Belinda Ann Whoolery

One Memory

  1. Belinda was born to newly weds Wayne Whoolery and Brenda Whoolery (nèe Smalley). She lived in the private community of Lake ‘O Woods in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia where she was described as a spunky, sassy, daddy’s girl.

Born in July of 1978 her life was cut short when she and Brenda were struck by Jack Walters of Smithfield, Pennsylvania. The young mother was returning home late in the evening from her parents house when Walters intoxication caused him to lose control of his vehicle entering Brenda’s lane and struck her vehicle head-on. Brenda was critically injured, and Belinda was pronounced deceased in the early hours of April 1st, 1982. A date that haunts the family to this day.

Once a beautiful child, with light that shined evermore; now immortalized as a heart shaped stone, in an Appalachian cemetery.

Although her life cut short; the impact of Belinda can carry on through generations to come as a reminder that driving while under the influence of alcohol carries consequences that time does not heal. Burdens that years do not lift. And tears that even miracles cannot dry.
